The Business in the Community Environment Index is widely recognised as the leading benchmark of corporate environmental engagement. This year, Shields scored 98.2%
 
It is a voluntary exercise that benchmarks businesses against their peers, and whole sectors against each other, on the basis of their environmental management and performance in key impact areas.
