With more than 30 years of experience, Shields fully understand the complexities of the Telecom Supply Chain and can help customers to achieve a seamless integration through adoption of our state of the art, Intelligent and automated Inventory Management, Warehousing and Logistics solutions.
Shields have over 4000 clients throughout the world. Our experts handle all shipping, import/export clearance, and compliance with the dual use regulations to ensure that equipment arrives on time , in pristine condition, fully compliant with national and international legislation. We also have our own transportation fleet which provides increased flexibility to meet your needs for a speedy, economical and efficient service.
Shields’ European Central Warehouse is located in the UK and a regional warehouse is currently being set up in the Netherlands. Shields are experienced with setting up and operating warehouses for specific activities such as Inventory and logistical Management and Asset Management projects for our customers. We are currently delivering substantial savings and process efficiencies to clients through our international warehouses in operation.
Shields warehouses are used extensively to store customer owned equipment (consigned stock), that is being managed by Shields to relieve the customer of the necessary warehousing and inventory management activities. This has 2 advantages; Shields generate value for our customers through the resale of the surplus and retired assets and the customer saves cost on warehousing at the same time.
Shields have developed a bespoke IT-system for Inventory Management. This system can manage multiple levels of inventory and hence can manage ‘stand-alone’ inventory, but can also manage multi-country inventories, thereby minimising the total stock needed. Inventory Management is of critical importance in managing Spare Parts. Our system can be integrated with our customers’ systems through EDI or Cloud computing, managing our customers’ telecommunications products throughout the whole life cycle, when in operation and when their use has finished.
Shields’ state of the art ERP system is at the core of the Supply Chain and integrates the information needed for a smooth and efficient flow of equipment, at the same time generating customised reporting that keeps all stakeholders aware of all critical information and supplying an ever more important full audit trail.
